Most performing arts organizations and theatres only produce the 'big ones' (aka shows written by out-of-towners or the dearly departed that everyone has seen and heard time and time again).
New works are bold moves because they haven't built a following... yet. That's where Next Exit comes in!

We're fearlessly leading the way to bring new stories to more audiences... and making them big hits! Because the term "audience" is a catchall for a widely diverse group of people with varied histories, opinions, desires, and roads traveled. Like audiences, new works are not homogenous. New works invite a plurality of voices and perspectives, innovation, and creative leaps of faith to awaken our senses to our modern world.
Next Exit is a nonprofit organization driven to bridge the gap between creators and productions. We are committed to compensating our creative teams for the professional skills they devote to developing fresh scripts. We don't own a venue so we also have to pay for rehearsal and event space for every single production.
